Whether it.s a painting, a sculpture, a video or a performance, Alexandra Unger.s work deals with women.s relation to and experience of the body through the investigation of four main themes: Sexuality, Fertility, Psychedelic Perception and Social Boundaries.
Sculptures become performative objects that are either made from the body or for a body to relate to.
Videos and photographs document performances and movement.
Paintings record the performance of exposing oneself and the awareness of ones own image.c With eight years bellydance as a backgrounds, the body is for Alexandra the starting point for any understanding of the primitive impulses that drive life.
