Last night gig (9th December) at the Brixton Academy has been a real show, Marilyn Manson didn´t disappoint his animated public, though not anymore accompanied by his first formation.
Visual illusions created by lights and lasers underlined MM as chameleontic qualities, we have seen him first as an Edward Scissorhands with laser green light as extension of his head, later as (anti-)american with a police hat, always playing its unique role of Anti-Christ Superstar.
"Exit now unsaved changes will be lost" was one the sentence projected on the background screen. A more introspective insight, indeed, can be perceived from his latest songs whose arrangements are more "melodic" in a Manson way!
He has delighted the public with great historic pieces like "Rock is dead", "Beautiful People", "Fuck it","Dope Show" and the answer was in unison "more, more, More!"
This has been a good change for the london based supporter band Exotica, which will accompany MM during his european tour, right in time for better launching their second album (self produced) The Riddle released the 9th, 9, 09. A bit too melodic for my taste but undoubtedly an accredited band supported form Kerrang Magazine, Classic Rock, Metal Hammer Magazine, BBC 6Music Rock Show, Xfm Rock Show, among others.
After 20 years of career it is still worthy going to see the unique musical show Marilyn Manson can offers to his differentiate public, which include teenagers, metal passionate and fanatical, to sober men and woman in their middle age, to myself.
